The modern market offers two main classifications of material. One of them takes into account the composition, in connection with which lacquers are extracted from one and two components. The first consist exclusively of acrylic, and the latter have also polyurethane. The following classification refers already to the properties of the resulting surface. Based on this, varnishes are divided into glossy, matte and semi-matt. Glossy are characterized by strong shine and high reflectivity. Matte compositions make the surface muted, velvety. Semi-gloss varnishes are somewhere in the middle: the glitter on the canvas is present, but it is not as pronounced as in the case of gloss.
